What’s on in Scarborough in Autumn 2024
If you’re planning your visit, you’ll want to make a note of these events and dates for your diary. Whether you’re visiting with friends or looking for activities to do with the family, there’s something for everyone!
2023 was the first Scarborough Pride event in over a decade.
Saturday 21st September sees the return of Scarborough Pride 2024.
The Scarborough Pride Parade will start at 11am from the Brunswick Centre. You can watch the parade in many locations throughout the town and along the South Bay. It then finishes at Scarborough Spa, where a range of family activities will continue throughout the day.
Organisers have announced that Scarborough Pride 2025 will be held on Saturday, 13 September at Scarborough Spa.
Scarborough Extreme is a brand new event, which is part of the Scarborough Fair annual calendar.
Across locations in Scarborough, you’ll be able to witness a range of radical sports and activities, including surfing, skateboarding, cycling, music, workshops and more!
- Autumn Daze (30th October)
This family festival in Peasholm Park includes craft activities, scavenger hunts, bush craft demonstrations and a more.
- Halloween half-term at Scarborough Castle (26th October – 3rd November)
Join this ticketed event to take part in quests with creepy clues or listen to spooky stories.
- Scarborough Market Children’s Halloween Disco (27th October)
Grab your tickets for an evening of dancing at this Children’s Halloween disco. You can even dress up if you like!
- Bonfire Night at The Tipi Venue (5th November)
From 4pm until late, you can enjoy hot dogs, hot drinks and warming marshmallows over fire pits at The Tipi Venue (Open Air Theatre).
A great way to start or end your bonfire evening after watching fireworks on the beach.

Autumnal Scarborough walks
If you’re looking for fresh air and stunning autumnal surroundings, then Scarborough has a variety of green spaces and the beautiful north and south bays to visit.
A short stroll from The Salisbury on Huntriss Row and our 25 Newborough apartments, you’ll find St. Nicholas Gardens. At the top of these gardens you can see fantastic views of the South Bay. There are winding pathways and step access taking you to the beach. If you prefer you can take the Central Tramway to the bottom.
South Cliff Gardens are open all year round and can be found at the opposite side of the Valley Bridge to The Grand Hotel.
The South Cliff gardens include: The Rose Garden, Spa Gardens, Prince of Wales Gardens, Holbeck Gardens, Shuttleworth Gardens and the Italian Gardens. Plus you can visit the play area, the Clock Tower and Star Map.
Peasholm Park is located just a few minutes away from Scarborough’s north bay and really is a place of tranquillity, especially during the autumn months. These gardens are set out in a Japanese style complete with a half moon bridge over the lake.
If you are looking to go further afield, then the North Yorkshire Moors National Park is easily accessible from Scarborough – just 20 miles away.
This protected landscape is home to wonderful wildlife, plant-life and with the cooler autumn temperatures it’s a perfect time of year to visit.
If stargazing is your thing, then the North Yorkshire Moors is a fantastic dark skies location and from the 25th October to 3rd November they play host to the Dark Skies Fringe Festival.

After a breezy autumn walk, you’ll want to warm up your hands with a hot drink or fill up your tummy with a nice hot meal. Here’s a few suggestions of places to do just that.
